Cortina Networks was the old trading name of my business, which I am no longer trading under. Any contract work I do now is done under my own name, with the same ABN.
I am no longer an agent for any ISP. I tell people to avoid both Telstra and Optus for broadband if possible. If you have TPG ADSL2+ available then it is a good deal, especially if you are a little technical.
I no longer do hosting either. I had a few customers leave (and fair enough: I didn’t have enough time to cater for them anyway) which left me with negative profit each month, so I farmed off all remaining customers to other hosting companies and moved my own websites to Jumba. This is costing me only $30/year, which is several orders of magnitude cheaper than my previous hosting. Budget shared hosting is fine for this small blog and the small(ish) amount of email I get.
I still do lots of web development using PHP and the usual round of HTML, CSS, JS, plus lately some Flash 9: AS3 is a blessing and a curse. I’ve been eying off iPhone and Mac dashboard development. I need to get my finger out and create a WordPress theme.
